Increase Your Website's Traffic

By

Driving traffic to your website requires perseverance, will, and time. Combining these elements can provide you with many views, ultimately raising your ad revenue.

The most important way to drive traffic to your website is through creating unique, well-written content. Without this, you have nothing. Once a reader deems your site as “junk,” not only will that visitor never come back, neither will his friends. Word travels fast across the Internet, and having a bad reputation will hurt you more than anything will. So, if your site is on pet grooming, be sure you have the best tips on how to groom your dog’s hair, or someone will find better tips elsewhere. The Internet is as vast as the forests of Washington. There hundreds, if not thousands, of other websites with similar content, so being unique will help. Also, make sure your articles are well written, containing no spelling and grammar areas. There are plenty of “grammar Nazis” scouring the Web, who will not promote a site if mistakes are common.

Search Engine Optimzation

Combining your interesting articles with search engine optimization, SEO, can lead to fascinating results. Figuring out what words to use in combination will increase your traffic from being listed as the three-hundredth site in Google’s results to twenty-fifth. Try to use common, everyday words for your titles and continue to use these words in the body of work as well. The metadata that search engines use will notice this, increasing your search results. Try not to be fancy as search engines look for common everyday-esque words. Using Google Adwords can help with word choice. After you write a few articles in this style, you will get used to the demands of search engines and gain traffic.

Using Social Networking Sites to Generate Traffic

One way to drive traffic is through social networking. Facebook, Twitter and the slowly-dying MySpace are listed in the top fifteen viewed sites on the Internet, according to Alexa.com. Make an account on all three, providing each site with unique content and images, but linking back to your website. For instance, put a small teaser for new information on your site, providing links to the new content. Once the pages are created, continue to update them by adding friends and updating the status of your page. Be active on your sites. Start discussions and comment on other discussions. Comment on other people’s pages if you have something to say. Do not be afraid to put your name out there.

Considering these steps can help with traffic. There might not be an overnight jump in your traffic, but over a three-month period, there will be a difference. This is where the perseverance really matters. Do not get discouraged. You will see results.

Hi,

Yes, over the course of a few months you will see an improvement to traffic. People do get discouraged and ticked off but people like us who stick it out and continue to plug along do actually see the positive results.

Under you video in this Hub change the word different to difference. I wish people would tell me when I have a typo.

Good Hub keep working it.
